| My Stained Glass Panels |
I love Picasso's paintings and decided to recreate a few to stained glass panels. Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), a prolific Spanish painter, who was quoted saying "I am always doing that I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it."
Picasso depicted his female subject from the side and from the front at the same time, but still managed to create a completely balanced and beautiful portrait. It is a really weird combination of beauty and ugliness, the theme of analytical cubism fascinated Picasso.
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch painter. I love his painting of Iris - this one was painted in 1889 in an asylum in Saint-Rémy, France. I recreated this van Gogh's Iris painting to stained glass panel. The fame of van Gogh began to spread in
France and Belgium during the last year of his life, and in the years after his death in the Netherlands and Germany. After episodes of self-mutilation, hospitalization, van Gogh chose to enter an asylum. He was quoted saying "I am good for something! My existence is not without reason! I know that I could be a quite a different person! How can I be of use, how can I be of service?"
