Dr. Benson is available as a consultant for poultry related concerns.
Dr. Benson is an expert in emergency poultry disease response. Dr. Benson has been extensively involved in research on the three D's: Depopulation, Disposal, and Disinfection.
Dr. Benson, Robert Alphin, George W. "Bud" Malone, and the research group at the University of Delaware developed the water based foam depopulation procedure. He and his group have taken a science first approach to evaluating and improving depopulation procedures. Dr. Benson and his research group were one of the first groups to publish on the use of water based foam for mass emergency depopulation and the group continues to lead in this area.
Delaware lead the nation in the development of daily mortality composting and in house composting. Dr. Benson and his research group build on the successes of Mr. George W. "Bud" Malone and continue to work to improve emergency mortality composting.
Dr. Benson, Robert Alphin, and the research group have been involved in the evaluation of disinfectants for emergency disease response. The group has consulted for two disinfectant companies to evaluate their products for equipment disinfection.
Dr. Benson was a technical instructor for two recent international education projects and is available for additional international emergency response training.
Dr. Benson has served on USDA SBIR review panels and has served as a consultant for companies preparing Phase I submissions. |
