CTAL to host February First Friday Roundtable panel on inclusive teaching
The First Friday Roundtable series at the University of Delaware will begin for the spring semester with the program “Inclusive Teaching!” from 3:30-5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, in 208 Gore Hall.
The Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning (CTAL) has invited a faculty and staff panel to present on campus resources and best practices for inclusive teaching. Participants will hear from the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI), Disability Support Services, and faculty members who have successfully created classrooms where all students have the opportunity to succeed.
By the end of the roundtable participants can expect to be able to:
• Identify campus resources to ensure diverse students’ learning needs are met;
• Employ strategies in course design to create equity in the classroom; and
• Analyze case studies and make suggestions for students and faculty members to ensure the needs of diverse learners are met.
Those who plan to attend are asked to register for the upcoming roundtable.
These monthly discussions provide an opportunity for faculty, instructors, and graduate students to examine teaching, learning and assessment practices and issues.
For information regarding future session topics and dates, visit the Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning’s website.
The First Friday Roundtables are designed and sponsored through a collaboration of Faculty Commons partners including IT Academic Technology Services, the Institute for Transforming Undergraduate Education, the University of Delaware Library and the Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning.
