This annual competition pits the schools in the Colonial Athletic Association against each other to see which one can get the most donors. UD has taken the title four times in the past.

• Pencader Hall, which will be open from noon-6 p.m.;

• the Bob Carpenter Club at the Bob Carpenter Center, which will be open from noon-6 p.m.; and

• the ballroom of the Goodstay Center, 2600 Pennsylvania Ave., Wilmington, which will be open from noon-6 p.m.

The CAA Blood Challenge is open to the public, and appointments are recommended. To make an appointment to give blood, call 1-888-8-BLOOD-8 or visit the Blood Bank of Delmarva website.

About the CAA Blood Challenge

The Colonial Athletic Association Blood Challenge has developed into one of the conference's most important public service projects and has raised 26,819 units of blood over the past nine years, helping to save thousands of lives.

“The CAA Blood Challenge has become a great source of pride for the conference and its member institutions over the past decade,” CAA Commissioner Tom Yeager said. “The event has grown each year and we have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and participation on each of our campuses.  We look forward to continued success with this very important life-saving project.”

The CAA Blood Challenge was developed by the conference presidents as a fun way to emphasize the critical importance of donating blood.
