Besides being able to search materials that are contained in DELCAT, users of WorldCat Local now can search for journal articles, as well as materials located at other libraries throughout the United States in one simple search.

Each workshop will give users basic tools on how to use this new system and its features, which include linking directly to articles, accessing information on titles through Google Books, ordering materials through interlibrary loan and creating personal accounts that can list users' favorite titles and personal book reviews.

All workshops will be held in the Library Instruction Room (Room 116A) on the first floor of the Morris Library and are open to University of Delaware students, faculty and staff.

The following is the schedule:

  • 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30;
  • 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7;
  • 11 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, Oct. 14; and
  • 2-3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The workshops are free, but seating is limited and registration is required. To register online, go to [http://www2.lib.udel.edu/usered/workshops/current.htm].

For more information about the workshops, e-mail [lib-workshops@udel.edu] or call (302) 831-2432.
