UNIFAT is a non-profit that strives to improve the lives of children in northern Uganda.  Civil war, disease, poverty, and suffering have plagued the country for over 30 years.  UNIFAT established the UNIFAT Primary School in Gulu where children are nurtured and guided to be loving, kind, and responsible adults.  Soon, a secondary school and a technical school will be established to add to the ever-growing UNIFAT project.  The UNIFAT school provides education in a productive environment.

Established in 1986 by Abitimo Odongkara, UNIFAT School was started for AIDS orphans.  Today, UNIFAT educates over 1,500 children with a staff of 45 teachers.  These dedicated students develop intellectual skills, including respectful listening which will later aid in peace building.

Abitimo Odongkara , herself from Uganda, fled the reign of Idi Amin in 1974 and settled in Philadelphia.  She is a pillar for the community here and in Uganda.
