Absence from UDECU General Membership Meetings

General Membership meetings are held at 7pm on the first Sunday of every month unless it happens to fall on a holiday or break, or other reason for postponement, in which case it will be held the following Sunday. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you need to email Paige Sacher at pmsacher@udel.edu. The legitimacy of excuses will ultimately be determined by the secretary.

Acceptable Excuses:

• Family emergency or commitment
• Illness
• Weather
• If you are committed to another Student Organization (i.e. sororities, fraternities, complex community councils, ect.) that meets at the same time as the general membership meeting, you are expected to alternate your attendance. For Example, if you were absent from the general membership meeting for March for the purpose of attending another meeting, you are expected to attend April's general membership meeting. Failing to do so will result in probation, unless there are extenuating circumstances, at which point it will be up to the discretion of the executive board whether or not to institute the probation.

Elections are held at the December general membership meeting and attendance is necessary. Absences from this meeting are greatly discouraged, so if you are committed to another organization please arrange the month of December to be the alternate month you attend our meeting.

Unacceptable Excuses:

• You Forgot
• You have work: Whether this refers to a job or school work, the general membership meetings are set way in advance. You should be able to plan ahead and adjust your schedule accordingly.

The ultimate acceptance of excuses will be up to the secretary and grounds for probation based on missed meetings are to be determined by the executive board.
