Where: University of Delaware

Newark, Delaware (near Wilmington, DE) at the Perkins Student Center on Saturday Directions

When: Friday – Sunday, Oct. 16-18, 2009

Speaker: Dr. Paul Witek

Theme: Evangelizing with Humility: Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Cost: The retreat is free but bring $10 for lunch on Main St.

Lodging: At the Days Inn between Newark, DE and Wilmington. Hotel address: 900 Churchmans Road Newark, DE 19713. Located at I-95 & Rte 58, I-95 to Exit 4B. Please plan to contribute $11 if you are staying in the hotel for Friday and Saturday nights.

Please feel free to pay for your hotel space using the google checkout feature that we have setup.

Parking: Perkins student center garage for a fee or we can coordinate parking at the church or someone's apartment

Church services will be at St. Michael's OCA on Kirkwood Highway (Rte.2), Wilmington DE 19808—only 15 min. from campus.

FREE shared-rides and shuttle service between St. Michael’s and Univ of Del campus.

Friday, October 16^rd

3:00-7:00- Check-in

8:00-9:00- Team building and group discussion (snacks will be included)

Saturday, October 17^th (keep in mind that breakfast could run up to half an hour longer)

9:30-10:00- Breakfast

10:00-11:00 Akathist

11:00-12:00- First presentation by Dr. Paul Witek

12:00-2:00- Lunch

2:00-3:00- Second presentation by Dr. Paul Witek

3:00-4:00- Q & A

4:00-5:00:- Get ready for Vespers and go to St. Michael the Archangel Church

5:00- Vespers

Dinner to be served after Vespers at St. Michaels.  During or after dinner, Bishop Tikhon will speak

Sunday, October 18^th

9:00- Divine Liturgy followed by Coffee Hour

From points North and South

Take I-95 to Exit 1B (Newark - University of Delaware), which is Route 896 North. Follow Route 896 north into Newark, where it becomes S. College Avenue. Follow S. College until you see the University of Delaware sign at the intersection of S. College and Park Place.  Turn right on Park Place (there is a light) and then soon take the first left (next light) on Academy St. You will soon see the parking garage for the perkins student center on the right.

From Southern Delaware

Take Route 13 North to the Route 1 Bypass. Follow Route 1 North and exit at Route 896. Follow for a few miles, go over the railroad tracks and make a right at the traffic light, following signs for Route 896 North. Follow for several miles, crossing the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, then Route 40 and I-95.

Follow Route 896 north into Newark, where it becomes S. College Avenue. Follow S. College until you see the University of Delaware sign at the intersection of S. College and Park Place.  Turn right on Park Place (there is a light) and then soon take the first left (next light) on Academy St. You will soon see the parking garage for the perkins student center on the right.
