Team Banquet 2010 Recap

By Alec Walczak

The men’s crew team celebrated their ’09-’10 season with their annual banquet, including coaches, rowers, and their families in attendance. The afternoon began with lunch, which was proceeded by thanks and awards. President John Pichola began with a speech thanking his parents, the coaches, and his fellow oarsmen for a truly special season. Coaches then came up individually and recognized the accomplishments of their respective squads and crews. Afterwards, the team’s annual awards ceremony took place. The coaches recognized certain rowers for unique accomplishments and contributions towards the team. Gifts to the coaches and Mrs. Pichola were given from the team in appreciation for the hard work and commitment they have given all year. The 2010 banquet commenced with some more words from John, including the introduction of Greg Hartshorne as next year’s team president, and a final thanks to everyone who came to celebrate a remarkable year in Delaware Men’s Crew.
