Delaware Crew to Conclude Season at 71st Annual Dad Vail Regatta
NOTICE:
Due to weather conditions, races on May 8, 2009 will be 1500 meter time trials. All boats in each event to be at starting area 5 minutes prior to start time of event.

On May 8th and 9th, 2009, the University of Delaware Men’s Crew will compete in the 71st annual Dad Vail Regatta, on the Schuylkill River in
Philadelphia, PA. Last year, the team won the Dr. Thomas Kerr Jr. Cup, which is awarded to the men's team with the most points at the end of the regatta. Contributing to this total were the freshman/novice lightweights and heavyweights who each won gold in their respective events.
The racing will begin at 10:45 am with the varsity heavyweight 8+ event. Delaware will be in lane 1, with George Mason in lane 2, Florida Tech in lane 3, Fordham in lane 4, Lehigh in lane 5, and MSOE in lane 6. The top two will move on to the semi-finals to take begin at 10:41 am on Saturday morning. Third, fourth, and fifth place will move on to the rep’s which will take place at 2:50 pm on Friday.
The freshman/novice 4+ will race at 12:09 pm in lane 2, with Michigan State in lane 1, Washington University in lane 3, Northwestern in lane 4, and Penn State in lane 5. The top two in this event will move on to the semi-finals which take place at 7:21 am in Saturday.
The varsity lightweight 4+ will race at 2:15 pm in lane 5, with Drexel in lane 1, Penn State in lane 2, Bowdoin in lane 3, Central Florida in lane 4, and Binghamton in lane 6. The top three in this event will move on to the semi-finals which will take place at 8:49 am on Saturday morning.
At 3:27 pm on Friday, the freshman/novice heavyweight 8+ will race in lane 3, with Cincinnati in lane 1, Georgia Tech in lane 2, Drexel in lane 4, and Lehigh in lane 5. The first three crews to cross the line in this race will move on to the semi-final to take place at 7:57 am on Saturday morning.
The JV heavyweight 8+ will race in lane 4 at 4:43 pm with Ohio U. in lane 1, Loyola in lane 2, Jacksonville in lane 3, and Marietta in lane 5. The top two in this race will move on to the final event to take place at 2:30 pm on Saturday.
The varsity lightweight 8+ will race in lane 3 at 5:03 pm next to Michigan State in lane 2, William and Mary in lane 4, and Penn State in lane 5. The top two in this event will move on to the final to take place at 3:40 pm on Saturday.
The freshman/novice lightweight 8+ will race in lane 3 at 5:28 pm next to Penn State in lane 2 and Northwestern in lane 4. All but last place in this event will move on to the final, which will take place at 1:30 pm on Saturday.
