Freshman Squad Competes at Rutgers Fall Classic
This past Saturday the entire freshman squad traveled to New Jersey to race in the annual Rutgers Fall classic. In even lineups the lightweight squad entered two 8’s in the lightweight category and placed 3rd and 7th out of 8 entries. The 8 that placed 3rd finished with a time of 12:35 behind two entries from Navy and ahead of the two entries from Penn and Georgetown. The lightweights placed 3rd overall with a combined time of 25:41.6, they placed behind both Penn and Navy but ahead of Georgetown. The two even frosh heavy 8’s finished within .06 seconds of each other in 8th and 9th position, with a time of 13:15.0 and 13:15.06 respectively. The heavies finished with a combined time of 16:30.6 just 5 seconds behind Georgetown and 6 seconds ahead of Rutgers. The heavies will compete again this weekend at the frostbite regatta in Philadelphia, while the lightweights will travel down to St. Andrews, Delaware to race Penn and Navy.
