Fighting 150 Compete at the Princeton Chase, Novice Heavies Compete at Head of the Schuylkill

On a rainy and cold Saturday morning the novice squad competed at the Head of The Schuylkill. The novice finished in a solid 12th, 13th and 21st place. The freshman lightweights would also compete in the competitive Princeton Chase regatta the following day. Unfortunately, the regatta would later be canceled because of the bad weather and the varsity heavies would not be able to race. The Varsity Heavies will be back in action competing at the Frostbite regatta on November 13th.

On Sunday the entire lightweight squad traveled to Princeton, New Jersey to compete at the annual Princeton Chase Regatta. With Snow lining the bank of Carnegie Lake, the varsity lightweights were first to take the water. In the Varsity Lwt 8+ the V 150's came in 11th they were a second off of both Penn and Dartmouth. Only 4 seconds separated 7th from 11th place. The 2v came in 19th overall and 7th among b boats. The most impressive finish of the day came from the young freshman Lightweights who had three entries in the event. The frosh 1v placed 11th overall and 5th among lwt boats. They were 7 seconds off 4th place Harvard. The 2nd frosh lwt boat placed 28th overall but 3rd amongst 2nd frosh lwt boats. Showing the depth with this years freshman class, the 3rd frosh lwt 8+ came in 31st but were the fastest lwt c entry 12 seconds ahead of Harvard lwt C and Princeton lwt B. Good work Lightweights.
