What is Campus Crusade all about?

Our Mission

Turning lost students into Christ-centered laborers.

What our Mission Means:

  • Taking the initiative to share our faith so that every student can hear the gospel in a meaningful manner.
  • Offering a place where Christian students can connect with other Christians and grow in their faith.
  • Equipping students to walk with God for a lifetime and have an impact for Christ on the campus and the world.

Our Goals

  • We seek to help students explore the relevance of a faith in God and how this relates to many areas of our lives, including personal, academic and social aspects.
  • We also seek to develop a supportive community for those who choose to trust Christ and follow him in discipleship.

Our Vision

  • Every semester there is a sustainable movement of evangelism and discipleship that is having a tangible influence on the campus culture.
  • Every student knows someone who truly follows Jesus, clearly communicates Christ in word and deed, and has invited them into fellowship.

Our Distinctive Qualities

  • A truly student led ministry - The student leaders run the ministry. Crusade staff and volunteers coach and mentor the students.
  • Our emphasis on training and equipping students to live a life devoted to Christ.
  • Our emphasis on having a positive impact on others and on the world by sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Christ Jesus to those who want to hear.

Our Values

  • Personal relationship with God
  • Walking in the power of The Holy Spirit
  • Reaching out to the lost.
  • Discipling others to spiritual maturity
  • Having an impact on the campus and the world

Essentially, what that means to is this: we know that faith in God is more than just something you say you believe in, or merely something to do on Sundays. Faith in God should change every aspect of your life (for the better), and Campus Crusade is here to help.

  • We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to hear the gospel and accept or reject the plan that God has for their lives.
  • For those who have already put their trust in Christ, we want to make sure that you're living up to all that God has called you to be. Many believers, especially new ones, have a hard time realizing that after you put your trust in Christ, your old self-directed life is supposed to disappear, and that a new life, one directed and filled by God's Holy Spirit, is supposed to bear fruit.
  • And for those who want to serve, Campus Crusade offers unique opportunities at UD. We are a student-led ministry, so you can get more involved in helping out.

Campus Crusade is comitted to promoting campus diversity by giving a voice to the teachings of Christ Jesus in the marketplace of ideas here at the University of Delaware. We want to give every one of the almost 20,000 students at the University of Delaware an opportunity to hear and respond to the Good News, challenge every believer to live a life of holiness, and to establish a movement of evangelism, prayer, and discipleship within the campus community.

What Does Campus Crusade Do?

  • Weekly Meetings - EVERYONE is welcome and encouraged to come to Cru, our Monday evening weekly meeting. We have guest speakers covering a wide range of topics, worship, praise, prayer, and time to hang out.
  • Growth Groups - One of the best ways to make friends is to join a growth group. Enjoy time building relationships, socializing, and studying the word of God. (Find out more).
  • Evangelism Training and outreaches - We train believers to share their faith with others, and provide opportunities to put their training into practice.
  • Retreats and Confrences - Throughout the year we go to Philly Metro Connection Conventions, our Fall Retreat, and the Christmas Confrence.
  • Commitment and involvment in a local church - Campus Crusade is not a substitute to church. We have partnered with local Bible-believing congregations to help students find a spiritual home away from home.
