    Do you love rambling through the great outdoors or looking to escape from the confines of the library or dorm?  Join us as we journey to White Clay Creek State Park for an outdoor lunch, a hike on the beautiful paths along the White Clay Creek, and an outdoor Mass.

    Got a hankerin' for some s'mores and hot cocoa? Then hop on the wagon with us Thursday, October 23rd at 7pm as we head down to the orchard for our annual hayride and bonfire. Bring your appetites, as hot dogs, marshmallows, cider and cocoa will be provided - with all the fixins, of course.

    Northeast Region at the 2005 NCSC Conference
    NCSC Conference

    Join students from the Oratory and across the nation for this incredible leadership conference.  The National Catholic Student Coalition Conference allows students to hear from a variety of speakers on student life, campus ministry, and Catholicism. However, it's much more than seminars: dinners, tours of the host city, the Commissioning Mass and dance on New Year's Eve, and numerous other chances to mingle with other students round out this amazing opportunity.

    This year's conference is being held from December 31st, 2008 through January 4th, 2009 in Atlanta, GA.  Visit the NCSC website for more info.

    DOCS Retreat

    Already tired of the Spring Semester?  Looking for a spiritual getaway?  Then join us on the annual DOCS (DelMar Organization of Catholic Students) Retreat, held from February 20th through February 22nd at the Marionist retreat house in beautiful Cape May Point.  Take time to reconnect with God and grow in faith while making lasting friendships during this amazing weekend.

    Don't really enjoy Valentine's Day because you don't have a significant other?  Looking to have some fun and possibly make some new friends?  Come and join us for our Singles Party on February 14th at 7 pm.  We will be having a homemade spaghetti dinner, lots of desserts, and a variety of entertainment.

    Lenten Mini-Retreat

    Take some time for yourself during Lent and join us daily March 10-14 for fellowship, food, and prayer.  Each day will include opportunities to pray the Rosary prior to daily Mass, attend daily Mass (12:30pm), talk with others at a lunch following, hear from different members of the community as they share their struggles and triumphs in faith over a dinner (6:30pm), and close the day in Evening Prayer (8:30pm).

    Relay for Life 2006
    Relay for Life

    Participate in the University of Delaware's annual Relay for Life by joining the Oratory's team.  This powerful event serves as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society while raising awareness about cancer research and prevention and honoring those who have fought this disease.  Team members can raise money on their own or help with team fundraisers.  This year's Relay is overnight at the UD Fieldhouse beginning on Saturday, May 3rd.

    Soap for Hope

    Have extra soap, washcloths, or Ziploc bags lying around?  Have a strange urge to pack the aforementioned objects?  Then you're all ready to help with the our annual Soap for Hope drive!  These soap packets are shipped to Haiti, where they are used as an incentive to get families to bring their children to vaccination clinics for important immunizations.  This project is ongoing through the Spring Semester; listen to Kim's announcements at Mass for more details.

    Prayer and Meditation


    Looking for some quiet prayer & meditation time during your busy day?  Stop by the Oratory on Tuesdays any time from 5:00-7:00pm.  Learn to pray Evening Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours (prayer books provided) and join us for taize style chant and final benediction.

    5:00pm: Exposition   
    5:15pm: Evening Prayer (Christian Prayer)
    5:30-6:30pm: Confession
    6:30pm: Taize Chant & Benediction

    Bingo!

    Bingo Outreach

    The Jeanne Jugan Home is a retirement home run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. Come join other students in spending some time playing Bingo with the residents. We leave from the Oratory every Tuesday at 6:30 pm, and usually return by 8:00.

    Emmaus House is a transitional home in Newark. Many students volunteer their time bookkeeping, babysitting, tutoring, working in the yard, carpentering, and performing simple household chores. Come join the group in sharing your time with those who are less fortunate!
