Literacy is the ability to listen, speak, read, write, and think. Children and adults use literacy skills in their everyday lives to express themselves, to solve problems, and to make judgments.
The Student Literacy Council of UD (SLC) is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that promotes and supports developing literacy skills throughout the world, and helps individuals unlock their full potential in whatever path they choose.
The Student Literacy Council of UD (SLC) is an affiliate of the Diamond (DE) State Reading Association (DSRA). Both the SLC and the DSRA are affiliates of the International Reading Association (IRA).
All three organizations promote the development of literacy statewide, nationally and throughout the entire world.
