Congratulations on your being admitted or invited to University
of Delaware, wish you a good time staying here with us all!
UD CSSA is an organization of Chinese
students and scholars around University of Delaware. Our purpose
is to help all Chinese study, work and live well here. One of
our important events is to help new-comers to settle down and
start their new life in UD.
We
can offer transportation help from Philadelphia
International Airport, Wilmington Greyhound
or Train Station to UD. Also temporary living place will be arranged
for all new students. Since all CSSA committee members usually
have their own work in daytime, preferred pick-up time is late
afternoon or weekends. Thanks!

Visit our newcomers
list make sure you are on the list and all your information
are correct.
3. Keep $30 changes at hand, so you can call the one picking you
up in case of emergency. It's very expensive to make a call at
the airport, it may cost you $5 for 2 minutes, so don't buy phone
cards at the airport if you don't have to.
4.
When you are picked up, please pay $20 to
the driver, for parking and gas (This is because driving from
UD to PHL airport needs 40 minutes, parking in PHL airport need
$5 , we are non-profit organization, all picking-up drivers are
Chinese students here, and they are volunteers). You can also
order Delaware Shuttle Bus, but it's about $39 including a tip
for the driver, and you will need a reservation online
or call 1-302-454-7800 or 1-800-648-5466.
Please stay at the Baggage Claim waiting for picking up at
least for 1 hour!!!! Otherwise, we may have trouble
finding you.
5. If you missed the one to pick you
up, please try coming to Newark (Delaware
) by yourself. ( You'd better have a look at http://www.delexpress.com
before your trip.) What you need to do is to call :

the 800 number is toll free, you can call from airport phone
kiosk. Then you can wait for about 40 minutes for the driver to
pick you up.
The cost is about $36.00 plus tip. Tip should be 10%~15% times
the fare.
After
you arrive at Newark, you can call any one on this
list to help you settle down.
6. Any change of your itinerary(flight No.,
time) should inform the one going to pick up you as soon as possible.
7.Please
take care of your I-20, Admission, Passport, I-94(you'll get it
on plane), money, all important documents of you, bring them with
yourself.
8.
You'll most probably be arranged in another Chinese student's
apartment temporarily before you can find a place to live, please
keep clean and quiet. (female will be arranged in female's home).
9. If you are a TA, it is strongly recommended that you reserve
a temporary room on campus, detailed information should be included
in your admission letter or you can visit UD ITA website.
